Attention Local New London Businesses

Advertise on our website and attract more customers from your community

New London Local First (NLLF) is a grass roots, nonprofit organization that is committed to building a strong, sustainable local economy. We believe that when people shop at independently owned businesses, more money stays in our community – stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities.

Our mission is to promote New London-area businesses and encourage people to spend time and have fun downtown – watch our new YouTube video to see for yourself.

In June 2018, NLLF hosted a symposium of experts to offer research and insights on how building a sustainable community will impact the future of New London County.

Factors such as food quality, healthcare, infrastructure, protecting our natural resources, and building a strong economy are key components to help us all stay resilient in the face of future challenges. Many voices are part of this conversation, and our panels of experts helped cast light on a multitude of perspectives.

NLLF co-hosted this event with Thames Valley Sustainable Connections, Sustainable Connecticut, and the CT Food System Alliance – other area nonprofits with a vested interest in promoting growth and resiliency in our community. Opening remarks by New London Mayor Michael Passero and a keynote address by Adam Whelchel, PhD, Director of Science at The Nature Conservancy/CT, gave a sense of heightened significance to the critical topics being discussed.

Beyond our video commercial and special educational events, NLLF has other methods of communicating and sharing our goals with New London residents. Our website, is an online resource where readers can learn about local events and connect with our member businesses.

Also, our local business directory is available in print and on our website. We write regular articles about the importance of participating in our local economy and we connect with the community through our Facebook page as well.

NLLF is teamed up with other sustainably minded organizations such as the Field of Greens farmer’s market and Thames Valley Sustainable Connections. Together, we work towards creating a healthier, more vibrant community that is resilient to the negative factors that threaten our collective well-being.

If you are a local business owner and would like to get involved in helping us build a stronger economy, please consider becoming a NLLF member.

We also have online advertising opportunities to promote local products and services for member and non-member businesses alike. Website advertising space is available for $120/year (that’s only $10/month to attract local New London shoppers).
Get involved and help us make a difference in our community!
